Can Your Physio Advantage assist with Home Care Packages?
If pain and reduced mobility is stopping you being independent or enjoying your social life then physiotherapy can help. Our physiotherapists can help control the pain of osteoarthritis and keep you moving. This service is designed to help you maintain independence and keep you living in your own home. We can work closely with your home care provider so that you get the most out of your Home Care package.
When can I arrange a home visit appointment?
Home appointments can be arranged between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday.
Is Your Physio Advantage registered for NDIS?
We are a registered NDIS provider meaning we can provide exceptional physiotherapy for participants that are self managed, plan managed or agency managed. We focus on helping you achieve your goals and achieve amazing results.
Will i receive a rebate for treatment through private health insurance?
Yes, if you are covered for ancillary cover with your private health insurer then you will receive a rebate within the limits of your health insurance policy.
Is treatment covered by medicare?
Physiotherapy can be covered by Medicare under certain circumstances. If you have a chronic condition (present for 6 months or longer) that requires a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM) given to you by your doctor, then you may be eligible for up to 5 Medicare funded physiotherapy treatments per year.
What should I wear to my physio session?
Ideally you should wear clothes that are comfortable and loose enough to not restrict movement and allow access to the area of your specific injury or pain.
What does an Occupational Therapist (OT) do?
An OT collaborates with you to identify strengths and difficulties surrounding your daily life and work to devise practical solutions which optimise your capacity to engage in these activities resulting in an increased quality of life. An Occupational Therapist can help you maintain, regain, or improve your independence using different techniques and equipment.
Our Occupational Therapist are experts in prescribing wheelchairs, motorised scooters, customised beds and walking frames. Our Occupational Therapist can also provide advise on how to make your home safe with addition of ramps, rails and non-slip surfaces.

What is the benefit of seeing an OT?
An Occupational Therapist can help you learn or relearn skills you need to maximise your independence and enjoy a better quality of life. They can provide assistance after sustaining an injury, acquiring a short or long-term disability, or a period of major life adjustment which has impacted your health and wellbeing.
What ages do OTs work with?
Occupational Therapists at Your Physio Advantage provide Therapy for people with disabilities over the age of 18. Our therapist work with older adults from all walks of life that find due to ageing and illness they are unable to maintain their independence.
What is ADL?
Activities of Daily Living (ADL) is a term used to narrow down occupations a client needs to do to manage in daily life. This includes: Eating, Walking, Dressing and grooming, Bathing, Toileting. Moving in and out of bed without help, Control of bladder and bowels – continence
What is IDL?
Instrumental Daily Activities (IDL) include: Community mobility, Driving, Education, Leisure – e.g. fishing, cooking, bowling, Work, Budgeting and financial management, Shopping, Home maintenance, Play, Social participation
How much does OT cost?
Occupational Therapy is covered under the National Disability insurance scheme (NDIS) and under homecare packages for older Australians. Participants on the NDIS and older Australians on home care packages will not incur any out of pocket costs for Occupational Therapy consultations or prescribed equipment and assistive technology.
Occupational Therapy can also be accessed with your private health fund or with a Medicare chronic disease management (CDM) plan, contact our administration team to allow us to assist you applying for your rebates.
